The other night, walking back from a restaurant down the lagoon, we thought there was fog rising off the water creating this very strange effect. It was not. The water was so calm that it was the reflection of clouds above, with all of the lights on the fishing boats lined up, lighting everything up in the strangest way. The string of lights are the boats, outside the reef, about a kilometer out from our beach. The boats are out there on any and every calm night when there is no wind. There is not much left of fish, unfortunately.

We free dove on a reef the other day, and realized that there is not a ton of coral left on this shore. Sadly, we found dynamite scars all over the reefs, and the whole thing had been dragged to rubble by fishing nets. Some locals told us that there were a few other spots that were “beautiful”, so we will search them out soon. Maybe we can search spots that the fishing boats can’t access…
