Well, yes, it’s true we have been in Germany, Portugal and France for the last month and a half, but we have been busy with friends visiting, so I haven’t actually finished posting a few things about Ireland (or Germany, Portugal, or France for that matter).
This is one I wanted to do for a bit: a video I have been trying to get to for a month or so.
It is just a catch up on driving around Ireland, and the roads, and the sheep, and the (of course) castles and waterfalls.
As with all of my videos, it is probably a bit silly (it is), and (hopefully) has some good visuals.
It is a bit long — almost seven minutes, I believe — so hopefully it doesn’t bore anyone to death…
We rented a couple of different cars while we were there, but this one was my favorite. This one, much like the Ferrari-red tuk tuk in Sri Lanka, is the fulfillment of several of my dreams (sort of… kinda close, anyway).
One of my dreams is to drive a classic red Ferrari over the winding mountain passes and roads of the European Alps.
Well, this one is red. It is Italian. And the roads in Ireland go through some mountains, and they are pretty narrow and winding.
So close enough, I guess
This really was a great trip, and I loved driving on those crazy narrow Irish roads. We had so many good adventures, and saw some breathtaking sights. We even took two different rental cars back without a single scratch after five weeks of driving there, so that was a win.
Only about 4% of what we saw is actually in this video. It would have been a feature-length film (and terribly boring) otherwise. Also, I just didn’t shoot that much video. The rest of it is just in my head, where I will lose it to dementia someday.
